           The Olympic Games

    First listen and then answer the question.

    When was the last time this country hosted the Olympic Games?

    The Olympic Games will be held in our country in four years' time. As a great many people will be visiting the country, the government will be building new hotels, an immense stadium, and a new Olympic-standard swimming pool. They will also be building new roads and a special railway line. The Games will be held just outside the capital and the whole area will be called 'Olympic City'. Workers will have completed the new roads by the end of this year. By the end of next year, they will have finished work on the new stadium. The fantastic modern buildings have been designed by Kurt Gunter. Everybody will be watching anxiously as the new buildings go up. We are all very excited and are looking forward to the Olympic Games because they have never been held before in this country.

Ⅱ. 现身说“法”： 将来完成时
 结构： shall / will + have + 过去分词
   完成时大体都离不开“持续、 结果、 经历” 这几大用法， 只是参照的时间不同而已。将来完成时常与表示将来的时间状语连用， 特别是 by, by the time （that）。
 用法
（1）  在将来某一时间或某一动作之前已完成的一个动作 （结果）
    Pick me up at 8 o’clock, I will have had breakfast by then.
    8点钟来接我吧， 那时我将吃过早饭了。 （结果）
    If you come after 7, I shall have finished my class. 你要是7点后来, 我那时就已下课了。
（2）  持续到将来某一时间的动作或状态
    By the end of July I will have been here for 11 years. 到7月底, 我来这儿就有11个春秋了。 （状态）
    They will have stayed together for 1 year by next Friday. 到下周五, 他们待在一起就一年了。 （状态）

Ⅲ. 说“文”解“字”

（1） as 引导的是原因状语从句， 语气比委婉些， 可放于句首。
（2） will be visiting 和will be building 都是将来进行时， 表明一个未来正在发生的动作或某事发生的可能性极大。

（1） will have completed将来完成时， 表示在未来的某个时间已经完成了、 有了结果或是一直延续到那时。
（2） by the end of... 到…为止 （段时间）

 by的用法
    ① by... = not later than 不迟于， 为止
     The application must be handed in by tomorrow afternoon. 申请必须在明天下午交齐。
    ② by = during 在期间
     We worked by night and rested by day. 我们晚上干活白天休息。
     The puppy got used to the new food by and by. 这个狗宝宝已经慢慢习惯了这种新的食物。

（1） watch 这个“观看”往往突出“随着事物发展而关注”的意思， 此处表达出了人们的关心。
